Federal prosecutors announced charges against three people on October 16 in a trafficking case involving three children and one adult. The FBI said investigators rescued all four victims, although the announcement did not specify when the rescues occurred.

An indictment unsealed in Delaware names Jamar Geeter, 39, of San Francisco; Kalvin Carter Jr., 44, of Waldorf, Maryland; and Jada Hasty, 29, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

According to the Justice Department, the defendants allegedly conspired to compel victims to engage in commercial sex acts in Delaware and elsewhere. Geeter and Hasty also face charges involving the production of child sexual abuse material.

Prosecutors allege that Geeter used contraband cellphones to participate while serving a 97-year California prison sentence for unrelated state trafficking convictions. That existing sentence is separate from the newly announced charges.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI’s Delaware Violent Crime and Safe Streets Task Force and Delaware State Police.

The Justice Department said the trafficking charges carry potential prison terms of 15 years to life if convictions are obtained.

An indictment contains allegations, not findings of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent of the new charges unless proven guilty in court.
